Retreat location, accommodation and food

The retreats are held at Broulee, a beachside village on the south coast
of NSW. Broulee is famous for its beautiful beaches and bushland. It is
located in the Eurobodalla Shire, known as “land of many waters” because
of its many lakes, estuaries, rivers, creeks and the ocean. It is a perfect place
to get back in touch with the earth, the sun, the sky, the sea, spirit, soul and self.

Only 160kms from Canberra and 280kms south of Sydney, Broulee is an
easy drive for a weekend escape. For more information about Broulee and

The venue is the Broulee Yoga Shed, a purpose-built, light-filled garden
studio, only a short stroll to the beach and creek. Activities will also be
undertaken at the beach, waterways and in nearby bushland.

Accommodation for the retreat is in comfortable shared beach houses at
and near the Yoga Shed. Twin share rooms or private double room options are available.

Healthy gourmet meals are provided all weekend - breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We cater for all diets including vegan and gluten free. Past participants
have rated the delicious food as one of the highlights of the retreat!


Who are the retreats suitable for?

The retreats are suitable for anyone with an interest in the deeper meanings of yoga and getting back in touch with nature and soul.  They are for those who wish to re-energise and renew themselves, to spend time with the elements in beautiful natural environments, salute the sunrise over the ocean, honour the light of the full moon, connect with the tides, sit quietly and breathe in the bush, or merge with the sea.

They are for those who attend regular yoga classes but would like to have more time to explore more deeply what yoga is really about, to enquire into some yoga philosophy and teachings, and to engage more intensively in a range of yoga practices. 

But beginners are also welcome.  We do physical practices and walking so you need an average level of physical ability but you won’t be expected to do yoga gymnastics.   We work on the philosophy that “if you can breathe you can do yoga”.   It’s all about finding your own yoga – your own mind-body- breath-spirit- connection.

I just wanted to thank you so much for such an amazing weekend.  When I returned back to “normality” I felt as though I’d had a really lengthy holiday, feeling so refreshed, energised, centred and serene (which is a word that I don’t normally associate with myself!). 

Every part of the retreat more than satisfied what I just love to do!  It was like every moment I was receiving the most amazing gift e.g. going not just on a bushwalk which is what I do all the time, but a silent bushwalk where I noticed so much! Not to mention watching the sun rise, kayaking (can you believe I had never done that before) and looking at the moon in a completely different “light”  :)

One of the things I really noticed on the weekend was how easy it was to feel completely connected to nature. I am sure that was helped by your beautiful, earthy and natural place with its gorgeous birdlife that I could have watched and listened to all weekend.Being surrounded by the ocean was an amazing bonus not to mention the weather which I am sure you didn’t have anything to do with:)

The yoga, readings and delicious meals were all fantastic too. Could you please thank your daughter for preparing such wholesome and nutritious food.

I feel that the retreat opened my heart and my connection to myself, through deepening my connection to my practice, the natural environment and the yoga community. The highlights of the weekend were practising yoga in the natural environment, including while watching the sunrise, broadening my understanding of yoga philosophy, learning about a variety of different practices and meeting new and wonderful people. Oh, and the food is not only nutritious but the best I’ve ever had on a retreat! The weekend was a deeply healing experience and I highly recommend the retreat to anyone, whether you are just discovering yoga or have been practising for a long time.
